Luxor is an open-air museum on the Nile: Karnak and Luxor temples on the East Bank, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's temple on the West Bank. Corniche hotels are best for reaching the temples and river cruises, while the West Bank is quieter and closer to the tombs. October to April is the most comfortable time to visit.
